ABOUT DUNE
Built by engineers who got tired of watching.
Big-consultancy delivery, seen from the inside.
Dune was founded by engineers who spent years inside large consultancies watching good projects slow down: layers of sign-off, rotating junior staff, decks instead of demos. The work suffered, and clients paid for the overhead.
We kept what worked — rigorous process, security discipline, documentation — and removed the rest. Today we build SaaS products, custom software and AI systems for organisations from first-round startups to NHS trusts and government departments.
Our mission is simple: give UK organisations access to consultancy-grade engineering at studio pace, with the people doing the work in the room.
Directness
You speak to the engineers building your system. Questions get answered by the person who knows, the same day.
Evidence
Progress is demonstrated with running software, every fortnight. If we can't show it working, it doesn't count as done.
Restraint
We recommend the smallest system that solves the problem. Sometimes that means talking you out of work.
Ownership
Your code, your infrastructure, your accounts. We document everything so you're never locked in.
Senior engineers only
No graduate benches. The people who scope your project are the people who build it. Median engineer experience: 11 years.
Small teams
Three to five people per engagement. Decisions take a conversation, not a steering committee.
Public-sector fluent
We work to the GDS Service Standard and NHS DSPT. Procurement, security review and IG are familiar ground.
Fixed-fee discovery
Every engagement starts with a two-week, fixed-price discovery. You get a working prototype and a costed plan — keep both either way.
